I thought this would be worth a share on here for those of you keen AT people, not just to raise some awareness for their fundraiser, but also to raise awareness that this scheme will exist in the future, hopefully.
For those who don’t know, NICAS is the National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme. They provide a structured approach to new climbers, leading to a competency award with various levels. They’re a registered charity and have been doing this for a while. I’ve been involved with running NICAS groups in the past, and think it’s a great scheme.
What they’re looking to do now is launch an adjacent scheme that can be more tailored to those who are disabled and/or neurodivergent. So they’ve just launched a fundraising scheme to help build this up.
