If they can’t pass the WHT then they can’t shoot, simples!
pretty much, we need to evolve with the times, just like with any new drill or uniform order. Retrain & retest.
thanks, although i apologise i misworded the question, the retraining was obvious if they fail a WHT they should retrain and certainly cannot shoot without a valid WHT
what i should have asked is, how is the retraining done?
the complete training in full
the an abridged version of the lessons which has changes in (as Talon suggests)
a demonstration of the new WHT (highlighting the changes) so everyone knows what to expect
or simply, right Cpl Bloggs and Cdt Jones, the WHT has change and now includes these questions, these are the answers you should give
moving from the L98A1 to the L98A2 i had a SATT taught conversion course, going through the various lessons.
that made sense as a new weapon system, but for a new test seems a bit OTT yet anything less seems too casual and teaching to pass the test…
no need for complete retraining, i’m just going to tell them the changes, show them key changes to the WHT, then test them. Seems easier than retraining just for the sake of a couple of extra questions and drills. however with the A2 changes to the PAM, i’m going to re-deliver key lessons and add those that weren’t essential in previous years.

As I mentioned you don’t need to fully reteach the whole lesson as not everything has changed e.g. for the now rifle lesson 9, the mechanism hasn’t changed so no need to teach them that again.
Some lessons have extras so I would say it needs more than just showing them a WHT.

If they’re pretty up-to-date, then just brief them on the revised WHT.
