New Fieldcraft training pamphlet

Does anyone know where the new fieldcraft training booklet can be found? I’m told that it’s been updated from 2013 and want to know what the differences are? Cheers

The ACF have released a new one but the RAFAC are still using the 2013 one for now.

The ACF have updated the pamphlet and it focuses heavily on their syllabus although the lessons are largely the same.

Is it possible to get the ACF one then?

There wasn’t an Air Cadets pamphlet in my day. We just used this.

Cadet Training - Fieldcraft and Tactics 2013 is the version to use, until the new Fieldcraft Syllabus is released in the next few months.

If it passes the HQ board, still many fiery hoops to jump through.

Yeah was just wondering if there’s a way to access the new one from ACF then

No because then you would be operating out of the scope of the RAFAC regulations.

(I appreciate some CCFs use the Army course structure but they do that under the supervision of their Army section staff).

It’s on defence gateway.

I don’t want to teach via the new one I just want to view it

I heard that about 2 years ago

It isn’t a major change in content. It is mostly redesigned to look better on electronic devices and be more visually engaging. The lessons have been re-ordered to reflect the change in our syllabus. Apart from that, you aren’t missing much. Less use of “LSW”. :frowning:

“Five minutes, Turkish”

bonus points if you get the reference

Is this with the new FCI course / process?

No new FCIs since Covid because the new course system is coming next month….

FT is almost dead now locally

I would not stop training locally. The whole interim policy and associated instructor course and syllabus will be released once approved.

We’ve battled a lot to get it out but there are some of the biggest hurdles still to come.

Alas our FCO has… not sure if because he can’t train FTIs on the current system but the reason has been no point as a new solution coming next month (for 3 years)

You can get a cream for that!

You just need to tap into local units…

…they have a plan for 2024…

I’ve still got my original copy of the version of Basic Batle Skills that we used in the 1970s ! In Middlesex Wing we had Wing Fieldcraft Instructors who were assessed before being ‘authorised’ to teach fieldcraft on Wing AT Camps. Notably at RE Wyke Regis, Anzio Battle Camp at Leek, Chickerell and one or two other locations !
