I believe whilst the RAF declared the bird to be an Eagle, the Air Defence Cadet Corps when set up in the 1930s couldn’t use the eagle so declared their bird to be a Falcon.
So the bird for the ATC is a falcon rather than an eagle (the AMO pre dates the existence of the ADCC)
For the gen z among us. Now identifies as an eagle, AAAB. (Assigned Albatross at Birth)
But… but… we can all just call it a bird right?
Or is it an eagle / albatros / falcon that identifies as a filing cabinet?
