Are we running a book on what this one will ban or screw up?

As an Air Commodore, he was head of flying training.

I mean, that went well…

I told him as much when he was on here last year blowing his own trumpet about his ā€œbraveā€ decision to can car parking and his subsequent failure to make any apology for the mess that decision caused.

Remember that he’d only respond to anything on here if you had insulted him.

It was almost clockwork. You threw an insult his way and he’d appear defending himself not 5 minutes later.

Actually became quite a useful way to get information.

To be explicitly precise, his first ever post on here was to defend his courage. In a thread about the down-fall of a whole region. An entire thread full of CFAV crying out for help RE South West Region, at what was a dire time. Loads of points he could have responded to. But what made him create an account and reply? Someone suggesting he has no courage.

According to a couple of my higher level RAF mates, he’s a good geezer.

I hope that’s true, a decent Commandant and a decent AOC? Monsieur Ambassador you are spoiling us.

Without wishing to do the rain dance, hasn’t every single appointment to this benighted organisation and it’s further hirachy since Babs (or whoever the hell she was…) been greeted with ā€˜oh this is great, my mate in X formation says they’re the mutta nuts…’?

Isn’t the grim truth that, like the Army, anyone who had the strategic vision and the ability to drive through serious organisational change to the RAF left long ago…?

Its a bit like football managers …

One gets the sack, another is appointed …all the pundits say he/she is a great appointment and perfect for the club etc etc … then they are sacked again a few months later!
…and repeat!

Well, much better than someone saying: ā€œUh oh, they were only promoted to minimise the damage they could do!ā€

Precisely. It was a text book example of how not to do leadership.

I genuinely hope he has learnt from his experiences here, but the attitude we all saw on this forum would suggest he won’t.

With his new, more senior powers, I think CAB is planning on completely banning Car Parks across the RAF due to the dangers they hold.

i suspect what he learnt was don’t deal with volunteers/CFAVs as they will not only ask ā€œwhyā€ when told to jump, but give valid, well thought out and even evidence based reasons why jumping is not a justified instruction given the fall out
