So I am going to a Naval base this weekend and I have literally no idea who to salute and who not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
^ that poster’s always helpful
Speak to the staff or cadet NCOs that are going. They will be able to guide you.
Do they have a quarterdeck??
Don’t walk on the grass - there will be a shout of “Man Overboard!!”
Transport off-base might be referred to as the liberty boat…
If they have gold rings on their arms or epaulettes and you are not an officer, salute it!

And it’s a ship not a base/barracks, if going off base, it’s going ashore. Strange people these navel types.
