National Townhalls

Wonder if we all hear about the new way of claiming VA and 1771.

did anyone catch the Commandants Town Hall today? Presume there wasn’t too much stuff of importance said from the radio silence regarding it on here?

Not watched it yet, but here’s the recording

And the first thing I notice is that the chevron’s aren’t central on the blue horizontal line . . .

linked to the poor branding of the new ACP’s . . .

Looks like AI rubbish…

I dont have access, as wasn’t in the meeting :frowning:

Ahhh I purposely joined the town hall briefly just to be nosy in the chat and Q&A

Ah Ha! Already posted

All cFAV Townhall

Circa 500 staff there. Not too bad!

I’ve watched the recording and, despite being the cynic that I am, it’s the most inspirational comms from HQAC that I’ve seen in years.

There’s clearly been lots of good listening and there are some really sensible topics being discussed. Evidence that the boss actually understands what we do as CFAVs. Hopefully the funding from MOD will enable some of this to be delivered.

Watched it back.

Certainly some shoots of positivity coming from the towers!

So who’s up for 9-10 year old cadets; in baseball cap and T-shirt??

We have enough issues recruiting/retaining staff for the age groups we have, let alone trying to join the likes of the Sea Cadets and scouts.

Dear god no…

That was a purple proposal, and sounds more like something that would be stood up from fresh.

There’s potentially a different demographic that would put themselves forward for that age group and the activity proposition that branch would have.

Interesting comments about [junior purple cadets] not shooting or flying when Air Scouts do both.

I think the comment about the incoming AOC might be pertinent… I’d be flabbergasted if the new post holder is any more restrictive than our current incumbent, so there might well be some wiggle room on a few things moving forwards?

Heard a couple of of rumours about possible successor.

Time to forumulate the battle plan to get car marshalling back on the cards.

And flying at private clubs.
And target shooting.

(I’ll stop, sorry.)

I hope we don’t go that way. One of the main reasons I enjoy what we do is the age of the cadets we work with. For the most part they’re mature, can hold a reasonable conversation, and can handle some amount of responsibility.

Not at the same time, so I’m told

And there is a minimum age for Scouts anyway (10.5)
