Does anyone know why the age for NASC has gone up this year? I was really looking forward to going and am very disappointed I won’t be able to. Especially since I will be the right age less than 2 months later.
I think 15 is reasonable for a flagship national camp where cadets have prerequisites to attend. The camp is aimed at older cadets who have a more mature interest in aerospace and looking for a career in this field. Also the places are in great demand and there needs to be some filters. Personally as a Flagship once in a cadet career opportunity, I would set the bar higher. 16 plus or post GCSE, an NCO and at least leading level with bronze PTS in the relevant fields.

Whilst I agree with you entirely on this point, the counter argument is that, with the average length of time in the cadets dipping below 18 months, you have to give them something ‘juicy’ early on in an attempt to hook them for longer.
