They might be too small and light to fly anyway?
Or they might fly in blues (thread drift incoming)
It might be worth looking at grants with your civ comm as a collective âboots and shoes libraryâ we did this a while back. Youth/adults shoes and boots size 3-6, as we created an order with a supplier for circa ÂŁ2500 worth of boots and shoes, with the average price that we agreed, the stock level was approx 60. Across the 3 sizes, our âlibraryâ system works as a loan of the shoes/boots. The agreement is to return them in a clean working condition and you can then trade them for a new size, using our stock. We are very reliant on honesty but have been fine so far. In general shoes and boots size 7+ are easier to obtain off the likes of e-bay etc.
I really like this idea actually yes . There is no way unfortunately we wouldnât be able to do this as we have basically no funds with civcom our subs literally tick us over just and as we are a small squadron not alot incoming. Our civcom has been kind of inactive for some time now so now fundraising has been done either.
do u have a link for these
No, google âthe tank museumâ and then go to their shop on the website.
is it the BTP kids stuff you are referring how are they looking in a group compared to MTPs
They look like a different variant of uniform and pattern, but the question you need to ask is who cares? Is it better that those cadets have something that helps them feel like part of your unit rather than being in civvies or coveralls.
I might have missed this as im too lazy to read the thread. Cadet direct do youth sizes but ÂŁÂŁÂŁ
And i feel dirty in sign positing in that direction
Also Kombat BTP isnt a million miles away from the official pattern.

Speaking of boots, my current ones Iâve had since being a cadet are pretty knackered. Anyone got any good (affordable) recommendations?
Iâm not a particularly âgreenâ officer, so as long as itâs good for the odd greens night and occasional weekend activity/camp then all should be well - I donât need anything crazy.
Are we allowed to private purchase the issue boots through the kit app?
Dont think so, yet. Worth asking OC Logs at HQAC though
For light use and not being hit hard on plenty of exercises or long distance, many of the generic boots would probably be ok.
Worth hitting up eBay - there look to be some ok condition, used Altberg Defenders and AKU Pilgrims (short) in the ÂŁ40-70 range if you hunt around.
Even something like a pair of YDS Kestrels 2nd hand would do for cutting around the unit - they were the original lightweight, light duty issue boot. New and half decent used in the ÂŁ30-ÂŁ50 range. Dropping down that low though seems like a search of terms like âpatrol bootâ, âassualt bootâ, and âcombat bootâ would turn up plenty of new options suitable for light use.
Stay clear of mesh sides and you donât need to worry about goretex - unless youâre a fair weather instructor then it doesnât matter.
p.s. I still love my Haix despite the weight, but even my ânice pairâ that have never seen even the car park of a training area have started to crumble at the side of the sole material. Ironically, my battle-hardened pair that are still sat with mud traces look fine.
As @Giminion says any issue patrol boots will be fine. I have the YDS Kestrels for âbarracksâ and the old style Haix for the field. The YDS cost me about ÂŁ40 new. Bates was another make that was issued, but Iâve not tried them.
Those are the high leg ones, if you prefer the shorter ankle style then the Iturri patrol boots are also nice. There are some decent AKUs doing the rounds too.
We were meant to be able to order boots as part of initial kitting but at personal cost. No idea if we can - I tried and got nowhere!
As a reservist I tried to order Altbergs through the system and it got rejected as not entitled. It seems that in an office-based profession Iâm only entitled to the KDS Kestrels, which arenât much better than wearing my slippers outdoors, but thatâs life I guess. If I didnât have to wear issued footwear, Iâd definitely buy some brown leather walking boots instead of any of the issued crap.
Shameless plug that im flogging some Bates.
Looks like you had too many bath treats as well!
She sells all her rubbish through mine aswell!
eBay is drunk:
