MTP PCS 23 RAFAC BADGE PLACEMENT

All,

Issue new MTP 23 shirt and noted the blanking plate is oriented differently.

What is the correct position for MTP 23?

Added photos for comparison, MTP 23 is the 1st pic.

Can you zoom out so we can understand the broader orientation on the arm?

Can’t tell whether the whole thing is now horizontal.

The general principle (underpinning extant positioning regulations) is that the badge is positioned level with the ground, so that it’s on straight, even if it’s janky when viewed in isolation on a blanking plate.

If the orientation of the pockets has now changed, that would likely lead to a change in regulations to account for that option and ensure the badge remains in the same orientation when the arm is down by your side.

I’ve seen plenty of wonky TRFs on MTP23, even on regulars. As long as it’s straightish I wouldn’t be overly concerned however, yours seems a little too wonky.

Just to add the blanking plate in the top picture is different to the one in the bottom picture.

@AlexCorbin any thoughts?

Talked about here too

It’s almost like we could start sticking badges on that pocket if they’re horizontal to the ground. That’d give us a bit of space…

My stance is (and need to actually discuss this) when stood at attention in No 3 the formation badge is level and parallel to the ground, just eyeball it.

Look at that pragmatism, I might need to sit down!

Ditto. It looks like a left sleeve from the angles in that image.

Edit to add: I also have PCS 23 l/w jackets with pockets / blanking plates at the ‘normal’ (diagonal) orientation.

Either there are differences between batches of PCS 23 (mine were early) or it depends on size (like the chest pockets on barrack shirts).

Who are you… and what have you done to the real Alex?
