All,
Does anyone know of a reliable supplier for these in bulk? I’m considering buying at least enough sets to equip a “section” for FTX.
I’ve seen Field Textiles mentioned here but open to suggestions.
The lightweight ones are terrible.
Might be easier to source full weight DPM ones.
I don’t mind the lightweight ones too much, I have the heavyweight jacket for range days but the lightweight is good to tuck in the top of a pack or even webbing.
Good call on DPM though, I will have a look.
They are indeed. Mine were buckshee but I still hate them.
Fieldtextiles are the provider that gets access to the MOD supplies so will be able to provide bulk but are generally very expensive.
Speak to your local army and navy place and they may be able to do it as well depending on who they have contracts with.
Places round here are looking for £30 for the jacket!
Try Nick’s Kit - believe he’s an ex ATC CFAV. If you are after bulk just give him a call and he’ll try to sort you out.

Does anyone know why, officially, it says in regs thay we must wear lightweight?
Ps. Obviously, because it is PP, there is a lot of leeway!
I’ve no idea why anyone would care, but the reasoning (and I use that word with the heaviest of sarcasm) is that the lightweight MTP waterproofs (the design with the full length zip on the legs) is the PCS issue, whereas the heavier weight, with the knee length zip, is CS95.
Again, anyone who actually cares about this stuff ought to have their hard drive checked.
I’ve never known anyone care and also never seen anything that dictates what pattern we wear. Anyone who is being as picky needs a head wobble.
The dress regs describe lightweight MVP. It’s just saying what they are not that they are the only ones that can be worn. It also says that all the old CS95 ancillary items can be worn.
AFAIK the ‘heavyweight’ MTP waterproofs are no longer made but if that is what you can buy or scrounge from stores crack on.
Thanks all, I only wondered why the regs were so picky. Just wanted to triple check that heavyweight was OK.
