Mtp and Dpm

What is your opinion on wearing mtp with a dpm daysack or other accessories
Obviously if a cadet turned up with an mtp smock and dpm trousers on it would be unacceptable and i was just wondering if the same rules applied to backpacks

Yeh fine. Most use CS95-style webbing, for example.

Nope, it doesn’t even apply to waterproofs.

Even full time service personnel are still using DPM rucksacks with MTP when MTP rucksacks are not available :man_shrugging:t2:

Mines still OG on the rare occasions it comes out of the loft.

I agree with the above. It’s perfectly ok to wear issued MTP uniform with DPM webbing, daysacks, waterproofs etc. As a CFAV, I would rather use/buy proper DPM kit than cadet direct MTP. Cadet direct stuff is ok for little cadets.

huh?

what is the black magic you talk about?

I’ve still not been issued any blue kit, had to private purchase it. But I did get “issued” with two sets of MTP and two additional barrack shirts by the cadet training team when I was first commissioned.

Edit: I lied. I did get issued one set of blue pilot officer tapes in the post about 8 months post OIC.

What’s the first rule? Never buy anything from Cadet Direct.

Except that aussie cam cream they sell. No one else sells that.

The only cam cream worth buying is camtech, and you can get that from many sources!

Not when I last tried, madly, Cadet Direct was the cheapest source!

(Camtech is Aussie btw)

Ah, I thought you meant something to match Auscam, it is Friday!

It might be, but the service is shocking and isn’t worth it. Also the postage would probably eliminate any savings. They are usually a rip off.

I agree, but on that occasion, I wanted 10 for unit, they came up trumps and cheapest. It appears more places sell it now.

What’s your parent station?
