So for the MOI course the cadet after completing the theory and their 2x lesson assessments etc to get their moi.
For staff doing the MOI course do they still have to do the 2x lesson assessments as well do get their moi. As when you read the ACTO 022 it purely talks about cadets getting assessed doing the formative and sumattive assessments ? Or do staff just do the theory as in the presentation course and thats all for them to be passed their moi?
Also in the ACTO I notice there is reference for the cadets summarise assessments to be recorded etc on tg form 012 and 012a but from what I can see no of these exist?
So is it just the assessment forms used that are in the training materials list?
I guess if the staff want MOI listed in their qualifications they would need to complete the assessments (min. 2x practice and one actual). Although, there is a separate qualification in the list on SMS for MOI training, so that can be added.
For records, you just need to upload their assessment forms.
I am a civilian instructor who has spent many years working in a variety of education settings as both a tutor and manager (specifically in both further and higher education).
I’ve also supported the delivery of MOI courses… supported the experienced uniformed officers…. Because the uniformed officers are the most important!!!…..
In moi, there is however, a significant divergence from modern methods of education and training , which is just getting churned out by these courses.
I keep hearing that moi is being redeveloped centrally, but of course they will would rather focus on moving the flash on the greens uniform about a centimetre away from where it was!
Whilst developing civil instructors to deliver a variety of courses is extremely beneficial, I fear that the organisation is missing a trick by not allowing them to develop their skills in education and training on a more generic basis (I.E L3 training and education qualifications)
I agree that we’re not prioritising staff training enough but I spotted on GMW social media recentlly a call for staff to do an educators course
I’m dissapointed that it looks like CFAVs have to pay themselves but a national roll-out with RAFAC/RAF people actually leading the couse could do without that
Definitely agree taking the moi course as an example having delivered and assessed for it few times I really am not a fan of the way it is layed out and is so due a wrerite and update like many courses.
also another thing I find really frustrating at times is why you the same person teaching the course can’t assess MOI . With what course this is, i see no need for this at all and it has stopped me been able to run a course when I don’t have someone to deliver it because I can only assess it and can’t do both.
would not suprise if it is a rule made up by the Wing or regional training officers as they seem to have a big habit of doing this has frustrated me many times.
