Totally get that, but many plug sockets are taken by phones being charged. But that’s a big risk with wires hanging out the walls and phones on floor so I’ve had to tell them to charge in the office if they are below 30% or put them away.
I may be looking for a suitable box from tomorrow so I can start to implement this. It genuinely is becoming a problem and distraction. I’m fully aware of what schools do but we aren’t a school.
Too much liability if something goes wrong, and also, we just learnt to trust them . Almost everyone has a phone now, it’s the norm. I’ve never had issues with cadets on phones in lessons.
We actively encourage cadets to bring in a small day sack anyway, so they can have somewhere to put notepad/pen/jumpers etc, and also their phone if not needed.
We’re not school. I find if they’re told not to use it, they dont.
They are not allowed to charge at the unit unless really needed for something urgent!
