Mobile phone policy

Totally get that, but many plug sockets are taken by phones being charged. But that’s a big risk with wires hanging out the walls and phones on floor so I’ve had to tell them to charge in the office if they are below 30% or put them away.

I may be looking for a suitable box from tomorrow so I can start to implement this. It genuinely is becoming a problem and distraction. I’m fully aware of what schools do but we aren’t a school.

That’ll do me :sunglasses:

Yep, we used to do the same.

Also agree. We no longer collect phones.

Too much liability if something goes wrong, and also, we just learnt to trust them :man_shrugging:. Almost everyone has a phone now, it’s the norm. I’ve never had issues with cadets on phones in lessons.

We actively encourage cadets to bring in a small day sack anyway, so they can have somewhere to put notepad/pen/jumpers etc, and also their phone if not needed.

We’re not school. I find if they’re told not to use it, they dont.

They are not allowed to charge at the unit unless really needed for something urgent!

Do they keep this with them or store it somewhere?

Yep - 'phones remain in bags or jackets for us.

Bags, jacket etc are kept in the main hall, tucked out the way unless needed.
