Excellent banner photo. Just what people want to see when thinking about joining the organisation. A load of Warrants. Why don’t we just put a photo of the Sqn bogs and a brush?
Very interesting that people should say that… Given that the ACFs facebook page “has generated over 750 adult joining enquiries over the past 12 months”
Page merge: Yes - I’ve been meaning to merge the pages for a while . Back in 2008, I created two pages as a means of covering both names and form part of an early ‘brand’ protection.
Photos: As for changing the photo - this photo was placed as a cover photo as it was part of photo competition. I’ve just been unable to change it. It was serving a purpose.
Recruitment: Any recruitment queries are processed and sent to the relevant MC contact. We tend to receive a variety of both young people and adults looking to join the organisation.
Why aren’t recruiting enquiries sent direct to sqn cdrs? People making an enquiry want a response/contact quickly from their local sqn, directing it through HQAC and others delays that initial positive contact. This could be done based on postcode to find the nearest sqn (as per supermarkets websites) with a link to Bader oc and or adj emails, or is that too simple or not allowed under some bizarre/obscue MoD nonsense.
It would be quite easy to add the email address. The current system has a “I’m thinking of Joining” button, which take you to a webform, this form sends the persons details with the Sqn they’re thinking of joining.
The shocking thing is they do have a postcode based Squadron finder[/quote]
I forgot about and gave up on that. When it was put on there, I tried it out and my sqn was in middle of field (and I mean middle of a field) 2½ miles (straight line) from where it is. My thinking was if HQAC can’t locate my sqn accurately, then it wasn’t worth the effort.
I seem to recall that a member on (the old) ACC was attempting to create an accurate map of all units. I certainly provided correction info regarding my Sqn location.
There is also this website, the chap that runs it has always responded promptly to any updates I have passed on.
