I have seen the new role of Medical Support Officer within regions (maybe even wings?). What is their actual role specification and what is their day to day role? Is this also a primary or secondary role?
Many thanks

This is a new role to organise medical provision at Wing, Region, and Corps events eg RIAT. I believe these will be primary with secondary supporters trained and support from first aiders. The ACF already have a similar role in situ who assist on ACF Camps. I believe these RAFAC has hired an ex-RAMC Colonel MO to support the development and rollout of the role.
When I was in the ACF, we used to have attached personnel from the TA running the med centre, MT, etc. (as a double-hatter I used to attend my own battalion’s camp as an adult instructor and then support the neighbouring ones as TA) — but that was a quarter of a century ago.
