I have just joined the ATC in New Zealand and am looking for advice about the cadet marching band. I do not currently play any instruments, but I would love to increase my knowledge and learn one of the instruments used in the marching band. Would cadet bands do any teaching, or would you be expected to be fully competent in your instrument beforehand?
From my experience in the UK ATC you will be taught an instrument, most likely snare drums or bell lyres
