Hey guys, I am thinking of taking up the b-flat flute (fife) and I was wondering if I would be able to play it at cadets in our marching band, however I am not sure if this is possible and if so what are the regulations (wanted to be a snare drummer but kept on getting excluded so I need something to specialise in)
Musically, yes, it’s possible. Your squadron’s band may take issue to you randomly turning up and playing something completely different.
Maybe talk to whoever is in charge of your band about your options?
