Mail Drop

That veiled threat is already in my initial messaging.

I’m sure my WATTO just has a distribution list of all AT staff because I get emails from him on both my personal email and my TO account.

I like to leave any request that has veiled threats in them as long as possible until people start getting really aggravated.

II also ignore nil returns.

Got to keep myself amused somehow.

Which is fine until you put an application and it gets bounced.

Its never happened. I actually get on pretty well with the WATTO who doesnt do veiled threats via email so i am happy to respond.

Some of the other wing staff on the other hand…

Possibly. But sometimes necessary. Especially when working with people who are not comfortable with computers.
The alternative to filtering into folders was that every member of staff was confronted by several hundred unread emails in the main inbox… “I can’t find anything in here!” was the complaint.

My “official” response could have been “Well, it’s your jobs to sort out your own emails…” and “…If you did it more regularly (like every night) then you’d not have to wade through all that junk…”
But instead I made it “Okay, we’re all volunteers with limited time. I’ll see if I can help simplify it for you.”

If the staff can’t efficiently sort through their own AORs then, invariably, it would fall to me as the Adj to chase them or pick up the slack at short notice. Anything which makes it easier for staff to do their job was good for me.

Controlling/directing/managing the admin of the unit is exactly what an Adj is supposed to be doing.

…and let’s be totally honest now… Looking for background chatter in other folders is no different to looking through background chatter in the main folder. Except that it’s now easier to see what’s new on which topic.
