If a person shows no interest, shrug it off and move on. To do anything else risks changing who you are; and you should value yourself more than that.
It’s a difficult lesson to learn, because everyone wants to be liked, but it’s one of the most valuable ones.
The right person will be interested in what you have to say, regardless of what the topic is.

Ask how they are? Ask what they have been up to? Ask ask what they’re interested in.,?
Try to ask open ended questions, rather than ones that generate just a simple yes / no.
Give them the chance to talk - but more importantly, listen to their answers - and show interest in them…
Ask for their opinions., ask for their advice about a problem
