Let it go, let it go

I really do wish that politicians would respect the people’s democratically decided desire to leave the EU and work towards us leaving.

Ever since the result was announced all that people (mainly politicians home and abroad) who didn’t like the decision, have been saying we’re all idiots for voting as we did and say we need another referendum so we can make the right decision … for the politicians. Pretty much as what has happened in Scotland after the Scottish electorate got it wrong, in the eyes of Sturgeon & co.

Now we’ve got Owen (other candidate for Labour leader) saying he’ll basically hold the country to ransom if he gets elected as Labour leader. The man is an idiot of the first order, as doing this will do nothing for our international standing post referendum. Every time you see or hear a Labour news item, you get the impression they are moving further and further into their own little bubble. It is ironic that Labour will be one of the first to bang on about democratic processes, people’s rights and yet can’t accept the results of one … ergo EU referendum and their own leadership votes.
I like many leave voters woke up expecting, if the remainers were right in their assertions, the country to be torn asunder by storms, with plague, famine and pestilence following on, but none of this happened (in fact as I recall the 24th June was a lovely day) as we knew it wouldn’t, but the remainers painted such a doom laden picture as to make you think this was the most likely outcome for the error of our ways.

The fact that there are many politicians who don’t like the decision show exactly what a bunch of bone-idle, complacent, work shy, imagination lacking individuals we seem to vote in as MPs. It seems that for many the notion of pushing us as an independent nation, making our own decisions, deals, agreements without being able to hide behind the ‘it’s the EU’s fault’ if it doesn’t appeal to / appease the electorate, is a bit too far. God knows where we’d be if the current bunch of slackers had been around between the 16th and 19th centuries (and even 20th wrt the 2 wars) when Britain developed into about the world’s leading nation, where politicians and others made decisions and took the initiative to promote industry and Britain worldwide, without needing the say so of a bunch of unelected ne’er do wells commuting between Brussels and Strasbourg and getting paid a fortune to meddle in other countries sovereign affairs. The only reason the EU leaders don’t want us to leave is because the EU is a mess and costs a fortune to run, although they’ve never finalised the accounts. But with us gone the national govt leaders (especially French, German and Italian) will have to say their contributions will have to increase by x% but with no more of a return. I predict the French especially will all go on strike and block the roads with burning tyres.
Leaving will bring it’s problems but they are miniscule compared what we would have had we stayed, IMO. But countries will still want to do business with us and vice versa.

It’s not the first referendum to be ignored. And it won’t be the last to be ignored by the illusion of democracy that is the EU. They have steam rolled over the people’s will since the start, and they will not stop.

To quote Jean Claude Junckers “if the people say yes, we continue, if the people say no, then we still continue”

It was sickening to see the horrendous amount of media bias after the result was not what they wanted.

3 things will happen:
1 it will get ignored and we continue as it has been
2 we get spineless politicians doing a limp wristed wet lettuce attempt at leaving the EU and we end up still in the EFTA with freedom of workers, with no say.
3 the other countries that have demanded referendums, all vote leave, the EU collapses, the whole thing crumbles, and the facade of democracy falls to reveal the facist, elitist, undemocratic, gravy train running greedy, spineless, beating heart of the EU, for all the people to see.

My guess is the first. Because we have complete doorknobs running this country with no spine.

Quite frankly the EU can go forth and multiply.

the people have spoken. We don’t want an undemocratic elite in a corrupt system. We have a corrupt and broken system already, once we get out the EU we can make a start On that.

And Scotland and the first minister can go and suck it too.
Aye, half your trade, get rid of a 56 seat voice in Westminster, for 6? MEPs that are corrupt and voted in for the benefit of the EU over their nation state.

People need to wake up and smell the flowers.

I see that Theresa May is going to carry on without a govt vote and why shouldn’t she. Good on her … just hope she’s not advised differently by any of the overpaid mandarins.
