no actual policy as far as I’m aware other than for holding armoury keys.

The only restriction is for armoury keys
Any and all CFAVs are permitted keys to thr front door. After that it comes down to local arrangements typically to control access to rooms such as stores, radio room, canteen but i know of nothing that suggests more than being a fully fledged CFAV
