One of my WSO’s phoned me yesterday from Camp asking why cadets could not fly in a Chinook that had landed there - simple, no PAX helmets (or Kevlar), no Duty Auth sign off - No Fly. Its the rules, so if you have one landing near you, don’t be shocked when you get a no to flying…

I managed to blag a lift last year with the RAF reg (A wing commander was hrs building to keep his cert) so was offering lifts. One of the local Staff lent me his helmet so I could go up 
Generally you will need a Wing commander or a Col to sign off for any jolly’s.
I would love to know how Marine Cadets and ACF get loads of Air for their summer camps and poor old ATC get sod all 
Not really fair is it as we are supposed to be the blue footprint and all that.

Every summer camp cadet has flown thus far on the ACF front SH falls under Land ie army

Unless it was a mk15 (pax helmet) which It wouldn’t be if it was personal issue it would of been A mk 4 no one should ever wear someone roses helmet they have to be fitted be a Squipper if you get caught it breaks all kinds of flight saftey regs be careful!! Could get him and you in all sorts of bother
Are you on about a Combat helmet or a flight helmet. I was on about a combat helmet.
