Not appointed - it isn’t an appointment like RSM would be in the Army, it is a cadet rank, and it is above CSM.

Just seen this. I can confirm the CCF(RN) Ranks do not only go up to PO. They go up to Cadet WO1. We have a CPO and a WO1 cadet in our unit and have had for years. They’re official ranks and have been, I am told, since 2015.
They do now but as you say, they didn’t until relatively recently. And those changes, like the accompanying changes to dress and the regrettable decision to withdraw the CCFRN cap badge (without consultation) were poorly communicated: when I wrote that, I’d not yet been told, and I only found out because someone complained my cadets were incorrectly dressed. That is not how you implement change.
As a result my senior RN cadet is now routinely a CPO and if one makes it to head of corps he can be a WO like his RAF or Army counterpart would be.
Agree 100%. As a Contingent Commander, the RN Section seems to be just about as disorganised as the Army!
