JNCO Course

Hi,

I am going on a JNCO course in a few weeks and i would like to know what we do on it, i don’t know where it is and i think we go Friday Night and come back Sunday.

-What do we do?
-What do we need(Haven’t got kit list yet so any ‘Special purchases’?
-Any tips(Any at all)

Thanks in advance

As there is no standardised format, you’ll need to let us know what wing you’re in before anyone can offer much advice.

Cumbria and Lancs

If it’s anything like the JNCO course I went on with Cumbria & Lancs wing (bearing in mind it was called Cumbria & NORTH Lancs when I went…though it was only a few years ago, honest!), it’ll be held at Halton BTC near Lancaster. It’s a pretty basic camp but does the job nicely for cadet instruction with lots of classrooms and outdoor space.

The only advice I could give is pretty generic I’m afraid; have your uniform in tip-top condition, be attentive, listen to advice, chat up the girls (or guys) at every possibility, be prepared for death by powerpoint, be prepared to tackle various typical leadership tasks (shark infested custard etc. etc.) There’s nothing there to try and catch you out. I don’t remember needing anything that would constitute being a “special purchase”, unless you mean shoe polish…but that’s about it.

From what I recall, it’s a pretty decent weekend. Have fun!

Ahhh, Halton. I was there for some beat up training for selection many years ago.
Even though I’m from Yorkshire, I never realised Lancashire had so many hills!!!
Thanks for bringing back that nightmare Stand Out, LOL
