JNCO course tips

Hey, as I’ve been promoted a few days ago I’m going on the JNCO course soon. Do you guys have any tips and what sort of stuff are there?

Course content will vary wing to wing, but likely to include:

  • roles and responsibilities of a JNCO
  • leadership, with more of a focus on management than task
  • drill
  • possibly a degree of safeguarding

My advice:

  • As with any activity, you’ll get out what you put in. Make sure you engage with theory lessons. Volunteer when asked.
  • Make sure your uniform is up to scratch before leaving, and take it in a suit carrier.
  • Work as a team with other attendees.

Most importantly, enjoy it!

Engage with the instructors and your peers. It is so unbelievably boring and frustrating when no students talk to one another and you don’t get as much out of the course as you could. Have fun!
