IWT on Air Rifles

Question for the collective.

Cadet has completed IWT on Type A air rifle with own squadron, transfers to another squadron which uses Type B air rifle is a quick 10 minute familiarity session enough or as per ACP18 V3 (1-05) go through the full IWT on the Type B air rifle before being allowed to participate in CLF

If the book says that then that’s the approach.

@bob1 beat me to it.

thank you both, for that clarity. I was same opinion.

Is it the difference between BSA Scorpion Single Shot and BSA Scorpion Multi-Shot, or is it BSA vs Air Arms.

Ahh yeah, full training then

Full training is not required… ACP18 Volume 1 allows for a conversion between different air rifles and their variants (magazine/single-shot).

4-10 Conversion training between air rifles and air rifle variants.
Where a cadet or CFAV is trained on an air rifle, iaw the IWT requirements for air rifles in para 4-09a(1), conversion to another air rifle or variant may be accomplished by:
a. Completing differences training, under the instruction of a competent instructor, using lessons:
(1) 1 or 1a, as applicable to the variant.
(2) 2 or 2a, as applicable to the variant.
b. Passing the WHT for the rifle variant.

Thanks for that info. So thats 2 x 40 min instruction / practice before WHT.

Yep, that’s likely the maximum amount of time, depending on which rifle they are converting from-to, and if experienced enough, they will have prior knowledge of the common parts/handling of the rifle.

Based on experience, I’d say it takes longer to convert from S200 single-shot to Scorpion multi-shot because of the introduction of the safety catch, magazine and magazine catch. Converting from S200 multi-shot to S200 single-shot is dead quick.
