Is there anything an Adult SNCO CANT do?

I really feel that I need to kill this misconception.
There is nothing difficult about changing from Commissioned Officer to SNCO. One simply resigns one’s Cadet Forces Commission and applies for appointment as an SNCO.

If someone picks a route and changes their mind they can make the switch.

Didn’t know this, had always thought that myth was true. Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

I think it was hard in the old VR days

You have to be a Capt of Equivalent to sign off a TOPL application.

So how does that work on a Squadron without a Flt Lt?

The bigger consideration is potential 45+ years in an adult uniformed role, being unappreciated by the CoC and nothing at the end of it, except memories.

Many of the things people can or cannot do are down to ensuring there is a reason to be an Officer or SNCO and not be a CI. If you’ve done the training the type of uniform you wear or not is completely irrelevant.

Another despite HQAC moment… I thought I had fun as a cadet… I’ve had more fun as staff… despite HQAC!!!

Near Impossible. The only person I know who.managed it changed their mind pre oic so their VRT commission didn’t count

You have to hang on to the fun bits for dear life, just to keep you going.
