Is it true: 38 Group RAF standing up again?

I heard recently from a (very) reliable source that 38 Gp may be getting stood back up…presumably in a tactical transport sense.

Perhaps the rumour was too far ahead of the reality curve, as I’ve seen nothing more about this.

Has anyone got any more gen?

38 Gp has indeed stood up but not in the role you think.

It is all the Eng and logs support units like those in Expeditionary Logs wing at Wittering, no flying assets

My understanding is that it covers personnel such as musicians and those who join through SERE

Does anyone have any more information, struggling to find any, and currently updating our RAF Organisation presentation. Just looking for a brief understanding of the role, and what the new group is called.
