Internal Communications Survey
ACO’s Internal Communications Survey

Comdt ACO has asked me to undertake an independent review of the ACO’s internal communications to examine and assess their effectiveness and make recommendations as to how the Organization’s internal communications might be improved or enhanced. The deadline for my final report and recommendations is 28 March 2013.

Consequently, I’ve designed 4 separate surveys customised to reflect just some of the key roles and responsibilities within the ACO and the surveys will be targeted at specific groups of individuals. Consequently, only personnel that are being surveyed at this time will be able to see and access the surveys.

If you are one of the lucky few (!), I’d be very grateful if you’d complete your role-specific internal communications survey by Wednesday 23 January 2013. Hopefully it should take you no longer than 40 minutes to complete. Regrettably, time will not allow me to survey each and every cadre or individual in the Organization, so when you complete the survey, please feel free to include thoughts and views from other members of your team.

Your returns will be treated in complete confidence and none of your answers will be attributed to you by name or role unless you specifically authorize me to do so.

All the responses will be collated and the answers will be used to provide the Comdt with an interim report, by end-January, highlighting areas that are working well along with those that are not working as well. The highlighted areas and any input/direction from the Comdt in response to my interim report will then be used to inform the direction and scope of the Review during February and March.

Very many thanks in anticipation of your support and candid answers!

Gp Capt (Retd) Nicky Loveday ACO Special Projects Officer - Internal Communications Review
If anybody is selected as one of the lucky few (!), please feel free to share the love on here to ensure that everybody’s views are taken onboard!

No, and why are questions directed to a non ACO address?

I wondered that myself :?

The questions aren’t directed to a non-ACO address; you respond to the survey on Sharepoint. I filled mine in yesterday but when I get chance I’ll pass on some of the questions (there’s quite a few!).

The survey questions aren’t but should you wish to gain more information about the survey, you mail a Hotmail address?

Not really sure what the issue is?

The issue is that we are all told that all digital ACO communication must be conducted through BADER (email in particular), yet here we have a central initiative with a contact point outside of BADER.

Highly ironic, considering the subject of the survey!

Maybe Nicky Loveday is acting as a temporary consultant and doesn’t have a BADER account (not sure why that would prevent creation of one, though)?

BPR.

Maybe it’s to encourage the angle of anonymity?

Perhaps, but anonimity was guaranteed (unless opted out) by the questioner anyway - so emailing from 9999@aircadets.org to survey@aircadets.org is no threat to that?

Anyone else one of the lucky few?

BPR.

Having read the email (need to find time to reply) it seems that Cmdt AC has asked Gp Capt Loveday to act as a consultant to the ACO to look at our internal Communicaitons. Having met Gp Capt Loveday (when she was doing a similar survey for RAFA) she was head of Corporate Comms within the RAF and I believe the perfect person for the job!

its a she?? damn, i get an old (male) flt lt on tues

I would imagine, because the time required for her to be given a Bader address and be shown how to use it properly presented a barrier to getting things done. Things move slowly.

Now isn’t that an interesting comment on the communications system too :frowning:

Maybe it’s because she’s a Gp Capt Ret’d, and as she isn’t part of the organisation isn’t allowed a Bader address?

Seems weird though. I know they have created temporary “special projects” accounts in the past.

So has anyone been contacted yet as a result of this survey to better explain their answers

Oh, he’s roped you in as well has he!?

Reading pane aside, they seem really pretty similar to me.

I received a reply from Gp Capt Loveday as said my comments could be used in the report should they be required.

Seems the Gp Capt will contact people if further input is required in the future!

Interesting video from RC(SW) RE communications! Quite a frank and honest outpouring by all accounts. Shame about the dodgy camera work!

…and the dodgy editing.

Personally, I’d probably have cut out the opening ‘fidget and readjustment of genitalia’.
