Internal Communication Win?

Just wanted to highlight what appears to be a change in the use of IBNs.

IBN 17/25 has just come out and, from my POV is exactly how they should be used. It’s highlighting policy change, but importantly, the policies have been updated and the IBN is just pointing to the changes.

For years, we seem to get IBNs overriding policy, with the actual policy never being updated. This seems like a positive shift.

Now, the actual changes RE the CFMO etc are annoying as hell. But the policy changes communicated with a clear IBN saying the important bits of what has changed, is good.

Agree, this is how they should be used. Not as interim policy!

Sometimes they’re okay for short-term interim changes. For example, the IBNs about metal flying badges on shirts and no need to wear ties with jumpers came out before the changes to AP 1358 but, importantly, the changes to the AP followed in good time.
