I am not sure if this is unusual or not but our squadron is having a new intake in April/May ish because of the Sea Cadets apparently. We just had ITF Finish and become First Class and waiting until June for enrolment. Not sure if other squadrons do this but it seems unusual.

It’s unusual to wait 2+ months after achieving first class to be enrolled.
Typically enrollment should occur 1-2 months after joining, and first class should take 4-6 months in total.
My unit invites new recruits to join in September/October and April/May.
Our Regular intake is September and January.
We have intake evening in September. For new year 8s. However we dont turn away anyone in the other months if they are the correct age.
They are enrolled after completing junior cadet syllabus then they can attend events. As they are not supposed too until enrolled. (Acp 300) For insurance purposes.
Then they go on to 2nd class training. On a round Robin. If they miss it the either wait for it to come around again or I help them fill it in when needed.
