I’m being giving conflicting info and hopefully hive knowledge will be able to offer correct guidance.
Passed Regional board, beeen appointed on to bader and had letter of appointment along with initial kitting form and mod 90 form, both of which have been filed out and returned.
My question is around initial kitting do I have to wait to hear from clothing stores to sayit its ready and will be sent to WHQ or can I call down to parent station without them saying its ready.
Depending on where you are they might or might not let the Wing HQ know.
According to the logs IBN you need to ‘hasten’ your order (chase it up) but it probably won’t be a good idea to turn up unless you’ve confirmed the kit is there.
Also, when you do, do be sure to ask for a deficiencies chit for anything missing (you will need this for Cranwell). Stores are loathe to give these out but without them you’ll struggle to get missing items. I’m still waiting for some of my kit and it’s been a good few years now!
All that said going to stores with a friendly smile and some decent biscuits will make it much easier to deal with them in the future
Make an appointment with your parent unit stores for initial kitting. As mentioned, get a chit for anything not issued. I’d also advise buying a couple more metres of rank braid and some extra RAFAC pins if they’ll let you.
