In Memorium (Former RAFAC Cadets)

With it being Remembrance weekend (something that has very much snuck up on me this year), I thought it might be fitting and appropriate to pay tribute to former RAFAC cadets lost in the line of service.

For me, I’m paying tribute to Tpr Brett Hall, 2RTR.

Brett and I were in the same troop during basic training at ATR Winchester in 2006. We both had a very similar history, having both been ATC cadets (although sadly I don’t remember which squadron he was a part of) and both having joined up almost as soon as we were old enough to do so too. Without doubt, he was the closest friend I had through my basic. We had quite a good laugh when he developed piles and couldn’t sit down properly through an impromptu bomb threat simulation at the barracks.

3 years later he was driving a troop carrier through Afghanistan when he hit an IED. He passed a few days later in Selly Oak, having never regained consciousness.
