If you could redesign the uniform, what would you add to it?

Now we’ve got the phasing out of 2C (I.e. no more is being bought) Let’s get into the 21st century and issue a proper working uniform to our cadets (no.3) and make 2A look a bit more special for that once a year parade (at least in my neck of the woods)

Whilst I’d love to see cadets issues with a tunic I appreciate it’s not going to happen, they haven’t managed to get me one yet. So what could we do to give our cadets a sense of occasion on ceremonial duties? Or do we think the addition of a tie is enough?

Bring back the ‘Thunderbird’ jacket. ROC used to wear that with an assortment of badges for their proficiency in aircraft recognition, their sector numbers, etc. Ranks on the sleeves would look better for parades, too.

Is this actually confirmed or is there an alternative sourcing plan for cadets?

Just another one about No2s.

The requirement for hosiery has been removed and the options available for wear have been expanded.
This has been released via IBN.
The rules for No1 still remain extand.

Obviously this will take a while to trickle down to ACP1358…

Nope, the update is live now and applies to us too.

even in the unlikely instance they brought it back, I imagine it’ll go the way of the GPJ; no cadets

I don’t know why we can never have anything good

But if you are wearing a skirt you can’t wear socks… who is putting bear feet into parade shoes???

Why not just have 2a and 2b for the cadets too? I don’t really get why we’re so precious about giving the cadets short sleeve Wedgewood?

It does feel as if they are gradually chipping away at No2 working dress, amending the regs rather than introducing new more practical uniform. Understandable on cost grounds.

But as we are not issued with No3 it is less than ideal for us. And supply of No2 is getting erratic to put it mildly.

Just put them in slacks/trousers. Chin off of the skirt.

Women have already solved this problem with those weird little socks you can get that don’t show out the top of your shoes.

Why can’t they roll their sleaves up?

I think the point is why not just get rid of the dark blue shirts and give them light blue short sleeved shirts.

I’ve said it before

Make No3 our working dress.

Keep No2 with the light blue shirt for cadets for formal/ceremonial.

If need be, bin off No1s for officers to cover the cost.

No need to give them short sleeve shirt just issue the long sleeve Wedgwood.

Cadets are only then issued a single type of shirt. If it’s hot they wear the sleeves rolled up or rolled down if cool or other reasons.

Or issue them 2 so they can send one to me for a £2 short sleeve mod

jk
I’m bored of shirts, next up is No2 Shorts, and a Sleeveless jumper

Woolly pully gilet?

Wait, that’s basically a blue cricket jumper

Most people only wear the cadet shoes with No1.
Most wear court heels.
