If you could redesign the uniform, what would you add to it?

Works for me. Was the blue jumper ever permitted as outer wear with DPM trousers - the Army have gone back to their range of different jerseys it seems.

IIRC the green jumper was an ancil item for DPM and is so permitted in MTP too just not as an outer layer (same as a softie or Norwegian shirt)

I wear mine as an outer layer. It has rank slides on it.

Army yes.

RAF - not sure. But when we had DPM (CS95) to loan out we also loaned out the green jumpers and also green shirts. I guess in place of the CS95 combat shirt.

But I think grey/blue jumper with blue shirt & MTP trousers is the way to go, then the PCS shirt for ā€˜full greensā€™ and 3a as it is for public engagement.

Actually no reason the 3a polo canā€™t be worn in place of the shirt.

One amendment. OG trousers.

Whilst I am with you on the sentiment, I think any uniform update should aim for as much as possible off the shelf. So MTP makes sense.

Good God, weā€™d look like MPCT!

Better than looking like a bus driver or security guard or in the case of my old CI polo, a nursery assistant

I had to look that up.

Depends on the nursery- children or gardening?

I quite like my old CI polo, wear it from time to time too as itā€™s old logo.

Nursery assistant isnā€™t far off particularly for those managing staff more than cadets

Certainly not for my current recruit flight

It provides a great service to teens who donā€™t quite meet the minimum level of intelligence required by the infantry.

Thereā€™s a minimum level of intelligence required for the infantry, and some people need help getting thee?

I exaggerate, but they are a ā€œcollegeā€ (run by a private company, but funded by the European Social Fund) who only provide level 2 courses - equivalent to GCSEs.

Their purpose is pretty much to support those who failed the minimum educational requirements to get them, so they can join up - in essence, functional skills training. They do also support those who are unfit to get their fitness to standard.

Theyā€™re not overall all that bad, and all of their instructors are veterans, but they do attract those who arenā€™t going to win any quizzes anytime soon.

Anyhow, I digress. Hereā€™s further info if anyone wants to know about them, but we probably should get back on topic: https://mpct.co.uk/

Greens, short sleeved blues for cadets and No1s for all. Realistically though Iā€™d get rid of dark blues and have greens issued.

Interesting opinion. It is the wrong one, but its certainly an opinion.

Canā€™t stand sleeves on my wrist, so the option of being able to wear a shirt rolled up is a win. And before someone says ā€œJuSt weAr ShORt SleEVe.ā€ Short sleeve shirts are abominable and should have never been invented.

Iā€™d keep working blue shirtsā€¦but folded up.

How much do the regulars wear Blues these days? I only ever see pictures of VSOs in No2s occasionally, probably see more photos of all ranks in No 1 dress.

The army roll up their shirtsā€¦

Why not just roll up light blue shirt sleeves?

Bam, saved you thousands of pounds on an entirely pointless shirtā€¦

Short sleeves rolled up is t a new concept and doesnā€™t have to lack poop.

Only person at Odiham routinely in blues is the SWO.
I wear blues on the rare occasion I actually wear uniform.
But most are in green.
