ACLI came out yesterday
But if you are wearing a skirt you can’t wear socks… who is putting bear feet into parade shoes???
Why not just have 2a and 2b for the cadets too? I don’t really get why we’re so precious about giving the cadets short sleeve Wedgewood?
It does feel as if they are gradually chipping away at No2 working dress, amending the regs rather than introducing new more practical uniform. Understandable on cost grounds.
But as we are not issued with No3 it is less than ideal for us. And supply of No2 is getting erratic to put it mildly.
Just put them in slacks/trousers. Chin off of the skirt.
Women have already solved this problem with those weird little socks you can get that don’t show out the top of your shoes.
Why can’t they roll their sleaves up?
I think the point is why not just get rid of the dark blue shirts and give them light blue short sleeved shirts.
I’ve said it before
Make No3 our working dress.
Keep No2 with the light blue shirt for cadets for formal/ceremonial.
If need be, bin off No1s for officers to cover the cost.
No need to give them short sleeve shirt just issue the long sleeve Wedgwood.
Cadets are only then issued a single type of shirt. If it’s hot they wear the sleeves rolled up or rolled down if cool or other reasons.
Or issue them 2 so they can send one to me for a £2 short sleeve mod
jk
I’m bored of shirts, next up is No2 Shorts, and a Sleeveless jumper
Woolly pully gilet?
Wait, that’s basically a blue cricket jumper
Most people only wear the cadet shoes with No1.
Most wear court heels.
I Didn’t think about adding a zip…
interesting
For those regulars and reservists out there, does the fact that dark blue shirts will no longer be issued mean they will become ally in the near future? Will we see cadet store rooms raided as a result?
i was always under the impression the dark blue shirt worn by a regular was already “ally” given there are few occasions to wear it.
in my time i have only heard (via friends who are Regulars) of one Regular who wore the dark blue shirt routinely and did so almost through annoyance because he could as it annoyed his CoC but had a role/trade (aircraft technician of some sort) that permitted it
i await someone to correct me, who will indicate that 30% of a front line fast jet Squadron can be seen wearing the dark blue shirt when working in the hangars…
I’ve never once considered it such.
In fact, I wish we’d just get better-quality (light blue) long sleeve shirts and then be given permission to roll the sleeves like the Army…
I’m sure I saw some in the Army wearing a shirt that would be perfect for us!
Think it is the Lancs or some other infantry regiment that wear an almost identical light blue shirt.
Yep Duke of Lancaster’s! but it only appears to be for officers .*. probably Private purchase and pricey at that
Edit: had a look at the Regimental shop and i was right
Maybe let the infantry officers keep it lol
Edit#2 Electric Boogaloo:
The company that made the shirts is dissolved according to companies house
Although there is a website selling some of their stock of Army Shirts, just not the nearly Wedgewoods
