I don’t see why you need to rush through the First class booklet, there is a lot of great stuff in it all about the RAF & flying , which is, after all why the cadets are with us and not the ACF/Navy.
I think that our cadets enjoy examining the topics and we cover them in depth. I expect to complete First class by Easter’ish from a September start (CCF Unit). We then do Leadership and other outdoor activities.
The drill assessment is pretty tough for a new intake, we try to make it fun and in small chunks, rushing this just adds pressure and can only reduce overall standards. Its something that Cadets need to take time over to absorb the fundamentals.
During this period we also have outdoor field training and offer w/ends for L98 training.
Got to bear in mind that First Class Cadet is saying you would be happy for your Cadets to march around an RAF base without getting shouted at by the SWO!
