Change from having Child Protection Advisors to Safeguarding Advisors
I always thought it was a massive flaw in the system that the person/people who deal with the initial safeguarding issue are local, and often already know those involved and may have preconceptions. Even the best person is always going to be slightly biased, even unknowingly.
It’s a much better system that things can be reported to HQAC for overview. Even if local people are still involved, HQ having an overview is good.
It’s unfair that a cadet reports a concern and the person who starts making decisions already know the party involved, and potentially is even friends, or on good terms with them.

I think that everything going direct to HQ in the first instance is a much better approach and also assist with national parity, and less local rugs that are getting full!
