Thanks - I’ve still not had chance to post it myself due to being in the ■■■■ end if nowhere!

Good work. We need more simple summary guides like these! What other topics are lined up?

What other topics would people like to see?

Limited to topics outwith ACO mainstream, or inclusive of them as well…?

I suppose the best areas are the ones just outside the typical CFAV’s knowledge. The areas they have heard about, perhaps have other local squadrons doing, but don’t actually know how to do themselves.

I was trying to think of some examples, which reminded me of an idea I had a while ago for a ‘Focus on …’ newsletter.

Each month it would cover a different topic: shooting, radio, climbing, archery, etc. I’ve enclosed an example of what the schedule could look like below.

The publication could detail the current qualifications, courses, costs and policy reference and would be a good overview for those interested in getting involved. It would also be a good way for busy squadron commanders to keep track of the various activities and ever-changing requirements.

The stumbling block is that every wing does things differently, with different amounts of support and different courses available.

Example schedule of topics
JuneCanoeing, kayaking, white water rafting and sailing

JulyFieldcraft

SeptemberBTECs (Aviation Studies and Public Services)
I think it could have value if it covered the more outlandish non core activities-
