I’ve heard that you need this to help you get a promotion so if anyone can help
I would suggest that applying for promotion is a locally institiuted procedure and that you speak to your Sqn staff about this. None of the Sqns that I have been a member of as cadet or staff ask for ‘applications’ for cadet promotions.
Do you mean JNCO Course?
In my wing these courses run over a weekend. If so check your events calender and speak to your Sqn staff (probably CO) to find out the application process.
Promotion to Cpl will be ultimately your COs decision but a good course report will help your cause as it evidences you are capable and reach the standards required at Wing level to be a JNCO.
It is not a prerequisite to becoming an NCO (unless there is some sort of local policy in force) and a good course report alone probably won’t get you promoted as your day to day performance on the Sqn (uniform standard, attendance, attitude, usefulness etc) will probably be a more important consideration.
Pre-course top tip do your homework before your go on your course, brush up on your drill, uniform regs, corps structure and prep and practice your talk.
Good luck
