Is it just me or has cadets recently just felt different in comparison to last year and the year before? I don’t know if its just my wing but everyone’s ageing out, squadron stand downs are occurring over simple budgeting issues and cadet portal is outdated. (It still thinks I’m a recruit) I’m meant to have an almost full brassard but due to “order time” it’s taking forever. Please tell me if I’m seeing these things alone or something.

ours have been due to low staff ratios to cadets, what budgeting issues are there?
as far as im aware it takes the info that is available on your sms profile. Only last week I asked to check someones portal to see what they were seeing and their profile was up to date.
double check with your staff to see if they have all your details up, or you could have a sms downage which is causing issues on portal.
How long has this been an issue for you on portal?
In terms of staff issues, we’re also shortly staffed but we actually got new members of staff joining our squadron.
In terms of cadet portal, it’s infamously known in my squadron to be outdated. (Cadets who have been there years before me still are just getting their accounts today 
)
Budget has been a wingwide crisis but that’s hoping to change soon
And yeah the vibes in general have just really changed
Have you considered having a cadet go around and log all the CP errors and then take a clear list of corrections to the staff so they can work through them when they have a moment?
Sometimes dealing with cadets giving unclear piecemeal instructions on a busy night isn’t possible, but a NCO bringing a clear list and any required evidence of quals means someone can sit down in a spare moment and work through it all without further interruption / a disrupting the night’s activities.

Well that’s not right. As soon as we have a new cadet added, we show them the next night how to log in, save their info on their phone so they don’t forget their details.
I might just be sleep-deprived, but I don’t get what this means. Don’t reply with any identifying info 
Biggest issue we currently have is asking cadets to add their face to their profile and remove the meme pics and their pets they’ve used

When I have time, I take a formal photo and send it to them, telling them to upload that one.
Or give flight points to those who change it within a week and deduct them every week for those without a suitable photo. They could sort that while on the squadron.

We do the same: for uniformity on CP / SMS and for a personalities board: so staff can learn the new intakes’ names, know who’s who when voting for best recruit, etc.
