Our cadets were sent home after an hour of sitting around.

Thatās sad to hear. Iāve seen a bunch of posts and thought it looked like a spectacular day! Sad to hear some missed out.
How about dusk til dawn every weekend, public holidays, etc. Double the volunteers on each VGS etc.

I hope you meant Dawn til dusk ā¦or are they getting NVGās as well! 
Iāve just been told that the gliding club at RAF Cranwell - less resources, less manpower, BUT operating under BGA rules - managed more flights on Saturday than the VGS at Syerston. Not surprised at all.
On the basis that the world records for glider flights are just over 70 hrs for a 2 seater & 56 hrs for a single seat, they could probably manage!
ā¦And also illegal I believe now !
ā¦issue the carrots and Red Bullā¦

How does 64 days grab you? 
I use that one (+ the gliders + some balloon / solar records stuff) when I teach aviation stuff to cadets.
