Much geekiness today.
That’s a throwback to my youth… Was always rubbish at it though
I really need a win. Gotta be honest.
I used to play 40k - Chaos Space Marines
Also dabbled a bit in Star Wars: X-Wing tabletop games
Problem is I need my mortgage for my house not games…
40k gets very expensive. The advantage of this game (Adeptus Titanicus) is that you can, in theory, do it pretty cheap, as you don’t need a huge amount of models to play. Both armies today we’re about 6 models.
It it like Epic? I used to play that many moons ago.
Similar scale models. But just the Titans and Knights. It’s then a bit more akin to Battlefleet Gothic, each titan has its own status board, which shows how hot it’s reactor is, how many shields it has, where it has taken damage, and how that damage affects it’s performance.
It’s really fun, and quite thematic. My friend and I managed to both table eachother thanks to the explosions dominoing. The death of his last titan took my last two with it!
I’d love to have the time (and space and money) to get back into 40K.
It’s a bit like that. It becomes a bit all encompassing.
I’ve been looking for something to do for a while now and I have fond memories of playing 40k at the squadron on a Saturday afternoon.
Now that my purchasing power is much larger than when I was 14, I think I’m going to pop into games workshop and spend my monthly allowance on some space marines
I’ve always wanted to have a proper Imperial Guard army, they were only really just releasing the models when I stopped playing.
As long as it’s not T’au or Necrons
Honestly, it’s arguably the worst place to buy new stuff.
Independent shops usually offer everything at 10-20% less than GW retail, you get the same models, for a lot less, and support a local business.
Mig15?
I’m sure they used them to melt snow
You win the prize - the engine hasn’t run for 5 yrs!
Very similar principle to RAF fuel bowsers MRDs with Derwent engines on…
It’s a good idea!
Having seen them melt tarmac / blast bits of concrete around, sometimes not so good! Also, hot air = melts snow… that then forms into sheet ice!!
