I’ve made my distain for the current CWO Rank insignia well known, But why are Sgt and FS FSC given aircrew esque ranks while CWOs are not. WO Aircrew and MAcr already exist as a template

I agree with you.
I’d issue CWOs the same insignia, as they do in the ACF for their cadet RSMs.
And if we’re doing FSCs, I’d give the eagle to FSCs of every rank, including cadet. Either they’re getting the eagle or they’re not.

but the RAF has never used the insignia of an army RQMS, so which salty WO at RAF 22Gp HQ decided to give it to Cadet WOs

I’ve seen something semi-official on internal comms about my profession being unaffected, except for the possibility that WO might be retitled WO1 (in which case, we’d still go from FS to WO1).
Surely that kind of defeats the entire point of the change
The point seems to be to get of of chief tech as a rank, due to it confusing everybody.
Personally, I prefer the RAAF solution: just make FS equivalent to WO2.
Just make everyone able to get all ranks, no?!
I’m saying that instead of getting rid of chf techs, we make CT the RAF’s OR-7 rank and have FS as the OR-8 (WO2) rank: then there’s no need for WO2s or to change WO to WO1.
Oh I see, yeah that makes sense. Just the name remains slightly problematic, though I suppose they don’t really mean anything given the origin of some ranks
Non-technical chf techs would be right at home with all the plt offs and fg offs in ground professions, sqn ldrs that don’t lead sqns, groups commanded by AVMs (two ranks above go capt), etc.
