Absent for three games in a row. If I was paid as much as him and was completely absent for a period of time I’d expect a few questions….

All Strikers have dry spots, at Euro 96 they were questioning if Alan Shearer still had what it takes because he hasn’t scored in 8 games.
Personally I don’t agree with the formation, he doesn’t play at his best as a lone striker, but even with that in mind he will come good.

I’m 50/50 on Kane for England.
Someone of his skill, mind, and general quality, you would expect better.
But…
He’s not fed the same as he is at Spurs, he plays best off others and others play off him - look at his assists last year. Close play, not too much running (certainly not racing defenders for the most part), using the ball to get around and behind defenders not his own feet.
England’s big issue is they try the slow, patient build up, but forget to turn the tap on and/or lose any creative thought around the box. Static targets, limited options = easy to defend. Loads complained that Scotland “parked the bus”, but really, England marshalled them into the car park and watched them set up their picnic tables before even trying to get into box.
I’m starting to worry that Gareth Southgate has read the George Graham 1-0 is all you need manual.

I have to say making a team has definitely made me more interested in watching the games. Especially when I’ve got players playing. But good god does football get tedious with people constantly pretending to be hurt all the time…
Gutted for Hungary they were doing so well against Germany but just couldn’t keep them out.

I’d like to say I can see it coming home… the right omens are there but we can’t underestimate these teams that are left and the fact we’ve only scored 2. Sweden look like dark horses to me, as do Denmark.
