Flight Sim Docs

Hi guys,

I’ve decided to ‘reboot’ flight sim training on my squadron and am looking for some documents. The flight sim’s themselves are fine but I’m looking for charts, airfield guides, VFR flight guides etc. They don’t have to be in date and ideally I’d like to get them as cheaply as possible. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

MRAR

This site can be useful … http://skyvector.com/

Charts are released yearly and can potentially go out of date. it is a polits responsibilty to have a up to date map so i would expect there would be plenty kicking about flying schools for training needs

they may also have some old airfield guides and the like…

I’ve put some feelers out to see what I can get from local flying school so I’ll let you know how I get on.

Just had a look at SkyVector and I’ve got to say it’s pretty impressive.

Thanks for the Skyvector link. Marvellous!

I attended QAIC a few years ago and while there they recomended (skydemonlight.com)[http://www.skydemonlight.com/], does the same sort of job as SkyVector.

Additionally I would love to organise nights where multiple sqn’s around the UK all fly together on their flight simulators.

that skydemon link caused mcafee to say “Hey this site is trying to install something on your pc” so I cancelled the download and didn’t continue. any thoughts?

I use SkyDemonLight myself (as a pilot) it is safe to click yes to the installation, it is a brilliant, quick and easy tool to use

It uses MicroSoft’s Silverlight IIRC. On my phone at the moment. It is completely safe to use and a really useful tool.
