Fitness Chat (Personal Development)

That’s a good point; Go Outdoors do this too from any site if the model is the same and the site is UK registered.

The battery life seems pretty insane on that thing looking at the reviews! That’s a decent contender.

If you have blue light you can save 10%

I’ve seen them as low as £130 for the mk1 (which is what I have and it’s fine for my needs)

I’ve now fallen into a smartwatch Youtube rabbit hole :joy:

Theres one feature of the instinct 3 i love and i thought it would irritate me.

Not being touchscreen, my old samsung used to accidently call people just by brushing it

I think non-touch screen is probably a good thing for me. I imagine one with a touchscreen will go a bit manic with metallic oily mess all over it.

From the videos I’m watching, the screen alone seems like a good enough reason to go with the 3 instead of the 2.

I’ve had touchscreen Garmins before and have now sworn off them. They kept mistaking the warm water of my showers for me trying to interact with the watch and it became a nightmare, so I’m now non-touchscreen only.

I’ve come across the ‘G-Shock GPR-H1000-1ER’. Looks way more rugged than anything I’ve seen before. Almost too rugged as it’s a bit big because of it :joy:

I use a Huawei GT2 when Im doing my rugged stuff, banger racing and the associated fixing. Had it 6 years without damage, no scratches etc. Does all the tracking I need it to. Good battery life as well. Can be picked up pretty cheap in places like CEX so even less to worry about if you do somehow damage it.

Bringing it back to fitness stuff, instead of fangirling over smart watches.

Super impressed with Runna. The fact the programs seem to be just enough to almost kill you but not enough to kill you and you can complete it somewhat comfortably.

Also loved how my instinct 3 told me not to exercise for 47 hours after tonights run…does that include the stairs to my office for work tomorrow?

You’ll love the improvement you see. Such great feedback and progression.

Wait until you get these lovely message…

Speaking of technology though, I didn’t know about egym before today (except when listening to a Yorkshireman say hello to his friend, James) but tried one for the first time today and was majorly impressed. I might just be able to get into this strength training thing after all!

Happy days; parkrun time finally back under 25 mins (24:36 today). I was struggling to hit 31:36 when I got back to the UK a month ago.

A bit more work and maybe I can start thinking about trying to break the 20 min barrier again (PB before Peru was 20:08).

Nice work!
My parkrun times have taken a hit at the moment but it does tend to land in the middle of my long runs.

I got called into work so no park run for me today

And theres me hitting 3.5k in 31mins :joy::joy::joy:

I did 14.5 in 4.5 hours the other day

Still faster than everyone sat on the sofa.

If anyone’s looking for a really good watch at an incredible price, H Samuel currently have 50% off the Epix 2:

Really pleased with my time at today’s parkrun; 22:54. Better than I was managing before marathon training at the beginning of last year.

Really not happy with the fact I appear to have torn both calves in doing so…
