Under 30yo sit up pass this morning.
Still incredibly stressed about next week. And considering it’s a VO2 test… High HR is not a good idea…

Passed the fitness test today.
Light blue pass as well, so more than happy with that.
Job safe for another year then, unless youre an idiot i guess
I haven’t had to do a fit test since 2018.
I’m trying to get more deployable, so the fit test is a massive component of that.
Doesn’t that mean you don’t have to take it again for another three years now?
Three years, I think.
Well… I have to speak to the doctors to get my “unfit RAFFT” locally removed from my permanent downgrade… Which is in a month.
That then needs to be approved by Henlow…
So by the time it comes round again I’ll be out of date
Got my 1 1/2 stone aware at Slimming World last night… Maybe not as quickly as I initially envisioned but it’s all coming off and I’m out of puff a lot less!
I’m really starting to think I’ve entered the full fat adaptation phase.
HR & HRV are almost back to normal, the mental clarity is definitely making an appearance (especially for working out complex problems and interdependencies at work) and my runs are starting to feel as though they could go on forever.
I only stopped running today because I had to get back to work; I had already completed double what the watch was suggesting and felt absolutely fine, in spite of running over some seriously waterlogged trails (including getting dunked over my ankles for long periods).
As of this morning, I’m finally in the 80s (kg) for weight, after peaking in the 110s.
BMI now 29.2
I need to do this at around 110 atm . . .
Drop me a message if you’re interested in Keto. I’ll tell you what’s worked for me and what myths out there you need to avoid - there are a lot!
Offer is open to everyone btw
cheers, I’ve been trying to do Couch to 5K atm and just establish the habit of regular exercise first, but that’s proving difficult with the amount of travel i’m doing for work, plus the worsening weather
You won’t believe me, but it’s the perfect time of year to be beginning running! When you first start running you get very warm very quickly, so starting to run in the cold helps with this and then you’re feeling better, running better and looking better when it’s light outside. But I get the issue with travel.
If you can, do 1 of your runs each week at a local parkrun. That you can’t run the full 5k doesn’t matter; there are some people who walk the entire distance, but it enables you to meet other people doing the same thing. People do what other people are doing, including ourselves, so it’s useful to surround yourself with other people who will help you and be your cheerleader - it’s one of the reasons I started this thread; a place to share your successes and barriers.
oh I’m not worried by the cold, I still hold by the mantra of an old OC of mine “Be Bold, Start Cold”, its the rain that rather puts me off
But thanks for the advice, I do know of a local parkrun, will try and get out to it.
Just don’t forget to register beforehand; you’ll need a barcode for the finish for your effort to count.
Go 25 times and you get a lovely purple T-shirt! I earnt my black one a few months ago: Milestone T-Shirts – parkrun Shop
I swear by this out walking in the mountains. Although it did seem a bit insane whilst up in the High Atlas Mountains to be starting off a walk in a t-shirt whilst surrounded by snow and ice
Another recommendation to get down to your local ParkRun if you can.
Good fun and practice running with other people if you ever decide to do a race.
I was a tad disappointed to work out I wouldn’t get mine this year after a few cancellations.
yep, just signed up. there is is ParkRun in my town so will try and get along.
Are you taking into account the double available for doing Christmas Day too?
I had initially aimed to earn it by my birthday, but missed it by a month.
