Is there any tangible reward for completing the merit/distinction sections of the first calss training books?
Aside from the improved knowledge of the cadet, and a sense of satisfaction, do we know if there’s a recognised certification scheme in place for getting the higher levels?

Yep. There will be (in time) a new BTEC in Aviation studies which has a P/M/D Grading. There is an ACTO that refers to it but I’ve not had much coffee yet to warrant going hunting for it. Remember you have to send completed training books off to HQAC at the moment!
